interpreta ti on of this Order as it applies for the interpreta-

tion of an Act of Parliament.

(1) the provisions of the Emergency towers (Defence) Act,

1939, which by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence)

Order in Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers

(Colonial Defence) (Amendment) Order in Council, 1940,

were extended to the territories mentioned in the

Second Schedule to the first mentioned Order subject

to the adaptations and modifications contained in the

First Schedule thereto shall apply to the Colony

subject also to tie further modification that the

functions exercisable thereinder by the Governor

shall be regarded as having been transferred to and shall be exercisable/ty/

(a) in the case of functions relating to ships

or vessels, their masters and seamen (incluling

apprentices), navigation (including safety at sea and

mide to safety in navig tion) and wreck and salvage,

(Safety and Load Line Conventions) Act, 1932, which

by the Merchant Shipping and Load Lime Convention
